The funky Hollywood bar is the latest from Mark and Jonny Houston, the brothers known for hot spots like La Descarga, Pour Vous and No Vacancy. This time it’s a throwback to the ’70s, complete with a vintage shop in front (which also hides the door), and an awesome patio in back with a deck, grassy area, hammocks and a trailer bar – that’s right, a small trailer that’s been converted into a bar.

The Houston Brothers have done it again, and Hollywood is, as always, all the better for it. This time it’s the spot that used to be Crane’s Hollywood Tavern; like all the other times, you’re treated to a secret entrance upon entry. But first – a garage sale where you can actually buy a piece of the retro-fabulous playground you’re about to witness. Right on!

It’s hard not to want to rush over to a bar called Good Times at Davey Wayne’s. It doesn’t sound like a place you go to wallow in the misery of your latest dating disaster, it sounds … fun. The Houston brothers (La Descarga, No Vacancy) named their latest venture after their father, and it’s a kitschy, ‘70s-themed spot with beers on tap, perfectly-made Old Fashioneds, and backyard BBQs. Thrillist described it as “a new bar in H’wood with the MOST EPIC SECRET ENTRANCE IN THE HISTORY OF SECRET ENTRANCES.” Their caps; not ours. Stop going to the same old boring bars and saddle up here.
